Main Crime Location
Forced labor From 1975 to 1979, I and other villagers were forced to transplant young seedlings, do heavy farm work, carry dirt, and husk rice. I did most of the assigned tasks inside the village, except carrying dirt, which was done in the Thmei village. There were no exact working times. [we] just followed their orders. I think Sem and Doe ordered people to do all these difficult tasks, and they are responsible for forcing people to work so hard. These working conditions made me exhausted every day. Sometimes, [we] had lunch, sometimes [we] did not have lunch. Sometimes [we] had dinner, and on very rare occasions, we sometimes had food after finishing work at ten p.m. Where I lived, people were given rice and water lily soup. There was enough rice to eat, [but we were too exhausted to eat]. At one point, when I had a fever, the unit chief still forced me to work at O Thlork, transplanting young seedlings. Only when I became really ill, was I allowed to take one day off. I do not know why [the Khmer Rouge] forced people to work so extremely hard under the Pol Pot regime.
