On January 15, 2025, at 9:40AM, Thomas White, Allen Renquist and Phea Sat from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) visited the Physical Legacy of the Sangkum Reastr Niyum King Father-Queen Mother (Borei O’Svay-Sen Chey) of the Queen Mother Library.
DC-Cam team led by Seang Chenda, Ly David, and Sreng Lyda and joined by Phork Sokviseth, a deputy governor, and Preap Sareth, greeted the delegation of USAID/Cambodia. Phork Sokviseth presented the delegation on the memorial of the Late King Father Norodom Sihanouk and briefed about district’s establishment history and development.
Seang Chenda toured the delegation to the Physical Legacy of the Sangkum Reastr Niyum. Then, Seang Chenda brought the delegations to observe the Mekong River view and presented about the Community Development Project in its Phase 1 and moved on to its Phase 2. The delegations met Teav Chhun, a survivor coming to settle down here since 1967, who has shared his memory of arriving at Borei O’Svay town and experiences during the war and genocide. Teav Chhun is among six hundred survivors living in Borei O’Svay Sen Chey district who have attended the Health Screening and Health Education Forum between March and June, 2024.
The delegations spent time to visit the Health Care Center and the Primary School funded by the Queen Mother Norodom Monineath Sihanouk where they meet and talked to the nurses and teachers. The visit lasted more than 1 hour, ending at 11:10AM.
