Opening Exhibition On Khmer Rouge History At Snguon Pich Pagoda

On July 3, 2020, the photo exhibition on the Khmer Rouge History (1975-1979) was launched and opened for the students, monks, researchers and villagers at Snguon Pich Pagoda. The exhibition was organized by the Documentation Center of Cambodia (DC-Cam) in order for the memory of the Cambodian Genocide by raising awareness of the Khmer Rouge History and the stories of the victims detained and executed at Snguon Pich Pagoda during the Khmer Rouge period.

The exhibition also presented the brief history of the nearly-three-year-old pagoda that stretched from Khmer Ancient Magic to the modern episodes of the Khmer Rouge period. The Snguon Pich Pagoda was used by the Khmer Rouge as the security center and execution site that was all proven by the building of the detention and torture and a pile of the victims’ skulls and bones. The last panel of the exhibition showed the prayer ceremony in Snguon Pech Pagoda in May 20, 2020 in order to commemorate the victims who lost their life to the Khmer Rouge.
